Often we are asked about our relationship with McDonald's. The McDonald’s system, including local owner/operators, suppliers, employees and customers provide invaluable annual support.

Today, we are stronger than ever due in large part to the continued resources from our local mission partner, McDonald’s. Their support, extends from monetary contributions to volunteerism; from board participation to media donations, and has helped us impact thousands of lives by giving children support, stability and the best medicine of all – their families.

Our local McDonald's owners/operators donate nearly $1,000,000 to RMHC Bay Area annually! 

Fry Assessment 

One cent from every pound of fries sold at local McDonald's restaurants benefits RMHC Bay Area, totalling more than $200,000 annually. 

Shamrock Shake

Released each spring, twenty-five cents from every small Shamrock Shake sold at local McDonald's restuarants benefits RMHC Bay Area.  

National Fundraiser

Each November, McDonald's restaurants encourage custormers to contribute their change to RMHC donation boxes through crew managers, members and in-store promotion materials. Continue reading to learn more about RMHC Donation Boxes!  

EGG Nog Shake

Released each winter, twenty-five cents from every small Egg Nog Shake sold at local McDonald's restuarants benefits RMHC Bay Area.  

RMHC Donation Boxes

Every day, McDonald’s gives people who want to support our families the opportunity to drop their change in the donation boxes at restaurant counters and drive thru windows. Other in store campaigns are also offered throughout the year. Thank you, McDonald’s, for helping children heal with their families by their side.

Your spare change goes a long way to help families of sick children

A dime here. A quarter there. It might not seem like much, but when millions give, those coins can help children and families significantly. Watch the video to see the impact that change had on one family.

RMHC Donation Boxes are our system's largest ongoing fundraisers. Last year, more than $54 million was collected worldwide. In the Bay Area alone we collected over $400,000 to support crucial programs and services for children and families.

  •  If every McDonald's customer dropped in a penny into an RMHC Donation Box every time they visited, we could raise more than $250 million to support RMHC children and families around the world.
  • One full Donation Box helps a family stay together at a Ronald McDonald House for one night while their child receives care at a nearby hospital.
  • One full Donation Box can help provide a dental screening for a child in a Ronald McDonald Care Mobile.
  • Change collected from Donation Boxes can help give families a place to rest in a Ronald McDonald Family Room, just steps from their child's hospital bed.

We Need Your Support

Although McDonald's is our most significant and long-term partner, no one company or individual can solely fund the growing need for our programs and services. Your support, as well as the support of the entire community, is needed and greatly valued. The help you give Ronald McDonald House, through funding, time or fundraising efforts, makes it possible for many ill children to heal better because their parents are nearby.
